Grizzly Mining Ltd Donates Oxygen to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) to support Zambia’s Covid Response

Kitwe, Zambia: February 27 2021, Grizzly Mining Ltd, a leading emerald mining company committed to corporate social responsibility, is proud to announce the donation of 114 oxygen cylinders weighing a total of 1,300 kilograms, valued at K90,000, to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) to bolster Zambia’s efforts in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges to communities around the world, and Zambia is no exception. In response to the critical situation faced by healthcare facilities, Grizzly Mining Ltd has stepped forward to make a significant contribution to Kitwe Teaching Hospital’s efforts in providing essential medical equipment and support to patients battling Covid-19.

The donated 114 oxygen cylinders will play a crucial role in enhancing KHT’s capacity to treat Covid-19 patients who require oxygen support. This life-saving donation will help alleviate the strain on the hospital’s resources and improve patient outcomes.

Dr Namakando Luisha, Head of Clinical Care at KTH, expressed his gratitude and commented: “we need a lot of support from corporate partners and the business community to get engaged and involved, like this donation from Grizzly which will go a long way in saving lives. We have relatives, and brothers and sisters who are in admission who will benefit greatly from today onwards.

We would like pass our great gratitude to the CEO and the shareholding of Grizzly mining. On behalf of the ministry of health and as Kitwe Teaching Hospital, we greatly appreciate the gift you have given to us.”

Davy Phiri, Head of Corporate Affairs at Grizzly Mining remarked, “it is our moral obligation through our corporate and social responsibility to give back to the community in which we do business.” He added, “we cannot let this government fight this battle alone”.
